until finally this pebble was big enough to be ejected from its (small) geyser
we hike through a snowstorm and by the time we got to these hot springs, the sky was blue and lovely. a strange day.

those are real bear prints. I guess bears don't care if the concrete's just been poured.
these trees are called "bobby socks" for the layers of mineral that have formed over their trunks
these pools are very very deep.
this pool may look relaxing and inviting, but it's about 180 degrees in there.
our guide Zack was pretty fond of the duck, and was happy to pose in a picture with him
