- You can tell waterbuck from kudu because the waterbuck have straighter horns, smaller ears, and look like they've sat on a white-painted toilet seat.

OK, I know this is the third elephant we've posted, but if you were seeing them in person you'd understand. They are truly impressive, awe-inspiring beasts.

Is NOT really old enough to be partaking of such beverages? - We stopped each evening around sunset for "sundowners," a very civilized end to the day.
- Water lizard. Right on the dam near Vuyatela.

- This is what constitutes a major road inside Djuma. Meaning we can get into third gear.
- This is as much of a hippo as we saw until Thursday, when we finally saw one out of the water.
- There was a great debate at dinner last night whether to call then "spots" or "dots"... we finally settled on "patches."

GIRAFFE,Giraffa camelopardalis, Family Giraffidae Color brown to rich chestnut (old males darker, even black), dissected into intricate tapestry by patches and blotches of lighter hair, pattern unique in each giraffe.
- The moon may be a harsh mistress, but it's nice to see you can still dress her up once in a while.
- Tawny eagles. A few moments later, they mated. (Sorry, I was too busy observing to snap a photo.)
